T20 World Cup 2024 Dates Out, WI & USA To Host Tourney From June 4-30
The International Cricket Council (ICC) Has Moved Up The Dates Of The T20 World Cup 2024 To June Rather Than October. From June 4 To 30, West Indies And The USA Will Share Hosting Duties. The Two Most Recent T20 World Cups Took Place In October.
Change In Format:
The T20 World Cup In 2024 Will Have A Different Structure From Earlier Editions. Instead Of 16, There Will Be 20 Teams In The Tournament. There Will Be 20 Teams That Will Be Split Into Four Groups.. The Top Two Teams From Each Group Advance To The Super 8 Round. Following That, The Eight Teams Will Be Divided Into Two Groups Of Four Teams Each.
The Semifinal Matches Will Feature The Top Two Teams From Each Group That Advanced. The Winners Of The Semifinals Will Play In The Championship Game. The Current Victor Is England. In The Final, Jost Buttler’s Team Defeated Pakistan To Win Their Second T20 World Cup.
Qualified T20 World Cup Teams:
The Tournament Will Grow To Include 20 Teams, Making It Bigger. The Top 8 Teams From The T20 WC 2022 Already Have Their Spots Locked Up, And The Hosts, The USA And The West Indies, Are Ineligible To Compete. Through The ICC T20 Rankings, Afghanistan And Bangladesh Have Secured Their Spots. Qualifying Teams From Europe, East Asia Pacific, The Americas, Asia, And Africa Will Compete For The Eight Remaining Spots. Over The Course Of 27 Days, A Total Of 55 Matches Will Be Played.
