Big changes in IPL 2024 schedule: two matches rescheduled, four teams affected
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that two of the upcoming matches in the IPL 2024 schedule have been rescheduled due to security concerns around the Ram Navami festival.
The home game between the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) that was initially scheduled for April 17th will now take place one day earlier on April 16th. As a result, the game between the Gujarat Titans (GT) and Delhi Capitals (DC), which was originally slated for April 16th, will now take place on April 17th. This guarantees that there won’t be any security issues throughout any match.
Following their notification to the BCCI that they would not be able to provide sufficient security on the scheduled date because of the Ram Navami celebrations, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) made this decision.
This last-minute reorganization demonstrates the intricate logistics involved in running a large athletic event like the Indian Premier League in a nation with a varied festival schedule. Because of the BCCI’s flexibility in modifying the schedule, fans may continue to see these thrilling confrontations.
