On Monday, March 25, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released the remaining schedule for the 2024 Indian Premier League. The board had only previously revealed the tournament’s first phase while they awaited the dates of the April 19 Lok Sabha Elections.
Phase 1 of the Indian Premier League 2024 kicked out on March 22 with the reigning champions facing off against Royal Challengers and concludes on April 7 with CSK facing off against Gujarat Titans. The Ruturaj Gaikwad-led team will play Shreyas Iyer’s Kolkata Knight Riders in Chepauk on April 8 to begin the second phase.
The top four clubs will advance to the postseason once the league stage concludes on May 19. On May 21, the knockout phase will start. The BCCI selected MA Chidambaram Stadium (Chepauk Stadium in Chennai) to host the Qualifier 2 and Final, and Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium for the Qualifier 1 and Eliminator.

Following the announcement that Chennai will host the 2024 Indian Premier League, an old clip of former captain of the Chennai Super Kings, MS Dhoni, has been making the rounds on social media, particularly on X (formerly Twitter).
The renowned wicketkeeper-batter expressed his desire to conclude his Twenty20 career in Chennai during an emotional statement at an event hosted by Chennai Super Kings and India Cements in 2022, as captured
