Varanasi: According To An Official Announcement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Will Lay The Cornerstone Of An International Cricket Stadium In His Parliamentary District Of Varanasi On Saturday.
According To The Report, The Board Of Control For Cricket In India (Bcci) Will Spend Rs 330 Crore On Building The Stadium, With The Uttar Pradesh Government, Led By Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Spending Rs 121 Crore On The Stadium’s Land Acquisition.
According To A Statement Made By The State Government Here, The Ceremony Is Anticipated To Be Attended By Cricket Greats Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, And Ravi Shastri Among Others.
The Stadium’s Design, Which Has Crescent-Shaped Roof Covers, Floodlights Shaped Like Trident, Patterns Mimicking Bel Leaves, And One Of The Structures Designed Like A “Damru,” A Musical Instrument Connected To Lord Shiva, Would Reveal The “Essence Of Kashi.”
The Stadium Will Hold 30,000 Spectators And Contain Seven Pitches. The Spectator Gallery Would Resemble The Stairs Of The Varanasi Ghats. It Will Probably Be Completed By December 2025 And Is Situated Close To The Ring Road In The Rajatalab Area.
The Occasion Will Be Attended By Prominent Members Of The BCCI, Including President Roger Binny, Vice President Rajiv Shukla, And Secretary Jay Shah.
This Will Be The Third International Cricket Stadium In Uttar Pradesh, Following Those In Kanpur And Lucknow.
