Sadhvi Pragya Thakur Discloses Her Reasons for Being Removed From the BJP List
Bhopal MP Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, reacted on Sunday after the party denied her a ticket for the next Lok Sabha elections.
She said she “will not be forgiven” for her words and acknowledged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi might not have been “pleased” with them.
Pragya Thakur stated in an interview with India Today, “I didn’t look for a ticket before, and I’m not looking for one now. Prime Minister Modi may not have been pleased with some of the language I used in my earlier remarks, and he has said that I won’t be pardoned. I had apologized to him previously, though.” The BJP on Saturday replaced Pragya Singh Thakur, who is on trial in connection with the 2008 Malegaon bomb case, with former mayor Alok Sharma in its initial list of candidates for the 2018 elections. With a margin of 3,64,822 votes, Thakur defeated Congress mainstay Digvijaya Singh in the 2019 elections.
