In India’s first Underwater Metro, PM Modi Rides with students
The metro will take approximately 45 seconds to traverse the 520-meter underwater portion of the tunnel, according to officials, as reported by PTI.
During the ride, Modi, WB LoP, BJP MLA Suvendu Adhikari, and state BJP president Sukanta Majumdar interacted with metro staff.
The PM inaugurated the Kavi Subhash-Hemanta Mukhopadhyay part of the New Garia-Aiport line and the Taratala-Majerhat section of the Joka-Esplanade line of the Kolkata Metro, the oldest metro network in the nation, while attending an event at the Esplanade metro station. According to an official release, the Majerhat metro station is a unique elevated project that spans platforms, railway lines, and a canal.
