To have an additional opportunity to advance to the tournament finals, they will aim to win both of their remaining games and place in the top two.
However, GT, the runners-up from the previous season, will experience their first IPL season without competing in the championship game. Following a washout versus KKR in their most recent match, the Shubman Gill-led team was eliminated from the competition. With five victories from 13 games and 11 points overall, they hold the eighth-place ranking on the points table and will be keen to end the season with a victory.
