The TRF asserts accountability for the assault on the Vaishno Devi pilgrims in Reasi.
The cowardly attack on the Mata Vishno Devi pilgrimage bus in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir was attributed to the Lashkar-e-Taiba organization, which has its base in Pakistan. The group calls itself the Resistance Force (TRF).
On Sunday, terrorists in the Reasi district opened fire on a bus carrying pilgrims, leaving nine people dead and 41 injured.
Former Director General of Police R R Swain thought the attack was carried out by terrorists from Pakistan.
“A local terrorist provided assistance to three or four Pakistani terrorists who opened fire on the defenseless pilgrims.” The horrific action is meant to incite conflict among the nation’s various communities, according to Swain.
The 53-seater bus, on its way from the Shiv Khori temple to Katra, veered off the road following the barrage of gunfire and fell into a deep gorge near the Teryath village of Poni area.
Lt Governor Manoj Sinha had earlier stated, “Terrorists targeted a bus driver yesterday evening, causing him to lose control and the vehicle to plunge into a gorge, resulting in the death of nine persons.” The CRPF, the Army, and the police are working together to punish the incident’s perpetrators.
“Saving the lives of those injured is our top priority right now. We are aware that there is no way to make up for a life lost, but in an effort to support the families, the administration has sanctioned an ex-gratia of Rs 50,000 for each injured person and Rs 10 lakh for each deceased person’s next of kin, according to Sinha.
After the attack, the Lieutenant Governor spoke with Union Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who he said were closely monitoring the situation.
There will be no mercy for those in charge. As per usual, Sinha declared, “The attack is part of a nefarious design to somehow spread turmoil to Jammu region, but we are determined to thwart such an attempt.”
