
‘Shocking That Delhi C.M.’: Nirmala Sitharaman Slams Kejriwal Over ‘Silence’ In Swati Maliwal Case.

The Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal was allegedly attacked, and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman questioned Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s silence regarding it on Thursday.
She called it “shocking” that the AAP chief remained silent on the matter and said Maliwal, the head of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), had been treated in an embarrassing manner.
The Minister of Finance stated, “It is surprising in fact shocking that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has not spoken a word about his party MP Rajya Sabha Swati Maliwal who was misbehaved with and beaten up in CM’s residence.”
The minister further attacked the AAP leader after the chief minister of Delhi was spotted with his aide, Bibhav Kumar, at the Lucknow airport on Wednesday. Kumar is accused of assaulting Maliwal.
“The CM has not acted, responded, or spoken about it,” she declared. I’ve heard today that he was spotted strolling around with the accused in Uttar Pradesh.That a lady who oversaw the Delhi Commission for Women is subjected to such treatment is beyond abhorrent.”
In a PCR call to Delhi Police, Swati Maliwal said that on Monday at the CM’s home, she was beaten by Bibhav Kumar, the former personal assistant to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. According to reports, Maliwal has sent the Delhi Police a seven-page complaint that describes the events that transpired at the Chief Minister of Delhi’s home.

Based on the written complaint, the Delhi Police have filed a formal case (FIR), in which Bibhav Kumar is identified as an offender. IPC Sections 354 (assault or criminal force on a woman with purpose to violate her modesty), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), 509 (word, gesture, or act of intent to insult), and 323 (assault) are the sections under which the FIR has been lodged.
