Realme 12x 5G Launched in India: Should You Buy It?

The brand’s newest low-cost offering, the Realme 12x 5G, has just debuted in India.
Under the hood, the new phone has a MediaTek Dimensity Processor, a dual back camera configuration, and 45W Fast charging—a first for the industry. This is everything that comes with the 12x 5G.
Three different versions of the Realme 12x 5G are available: 4GB + 128GB for Rs 11,999, 6GB + 128GB for Rs 13,499, and 8GB + 128GB for Rs 14,999. Starting tonight at 6 PM IST, users can take advantage of a bank deal that will save them Rs 1,000 on the base variant and Rs 500 on the 6GB model during the handset’s early bird sale.
The 6.72-inch Full HD+LCD display on the Realme 12x 5G has a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a touch sampling rate of 240 Hz, Panda Glass protection, and a peak brightness of 950 nits. The gadget is splash and dust resistant, with an IP54 rating. It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ CPU with 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage and up to 8GB of LPDDR4 RAM.
Its dual camera arrangement at the rear consists of a 2MP f/2.4 Monochrome sensor and a 50MP f/1.8 Primary sensor for lenses. An 8MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture and an 80 degree field of view is located on the front. A 5000mAh battery with 45W rapid wired charging powers the phone.
The smartphone is equipped with dual-SIM 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth v5.3, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, USB-C connector, and Realme UI 5.0, which is based on Android 14. In addition, the phone features two speakers for music and a fingerprint scanner on the side that doubles as a dynamic button.
Competitors of the Realme 12x 5G include the Moto G34 5G (Rs 10,999) and the Galaxy F15 5G (Rs 12,999). Regarding the former, the Galaxy F15 5G comes with a larger 6000mAh battery, an improved AMOLED display with a lower refresh rate of 90Hz, support for microSD cards up to 1TB, an ultra-wide angle camera, and the same Chipset (as 12x 5G) with much better software that will receive four major Android releases. The Galaxy F15 5G’s improved features are significantly more valuable than Realme’s 12x 5G, even at a thousand dollars more.
When it comes to pricing, the Moto G34 5G is more affordable than the Realme 12x 5G. The G34 5G is now available for Rs 10,999 for the 4GB + 128GB model, making it a better deal. On the Motorola phone, you will have to make compromises in terms of display resolution and slower charging. The Motorola handset compensates for it with a Snapdragon 695 processor, which is marginally better.
The Realme 12x 5G appears to be a lesser product overall since its rivals offer a better overall value.
