NESO Pleads With The Supreme Court Against CAA

(NESO) Asking For A Stay Of The Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 (CAA) Regulations.
Notwithstanding The Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019’s Regulations, “We Have Filed A Petition In The Supreme Court, Challenging Those Rules With A Submission To The Supreme Court To Issue A Stay On Its Implementation,” NESO Chairman Samuel Jyrwa Said In A Statement From Delhi.
Earlier, The NESO Had Filed A Petition In The Supreme Court On December 19, 2019, Against The CAA, 2019.
“The Entirety Of The Northeast States, Which Will Be Negatively Impacted In The Near Future, Are At Serious Risk From The CAA 2019,” He Stated. “Even Though The ILP Covered States, Which Include Mizoram, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, And Manipur, As Well As The Sixth Scheduled Covered Areas, Which Include 98% Of Meghalaya, 70% Of Tripura, And 8 Districts Of Assam, Are Exempted.”
Accordingly, The CAA, 2019 Should Not Be Applied In Order To Safeguard The Tiny Indigenous Communities Of Northeast India That Are Already Impacted By The Unrelenting Flood Of Illegal Migrants From Bangladesh, Jyrwa Stated, Adding That Doing So Would Only Exacerbate The Already Dire Circumstances Facing The Area.
