Israeli strike targeting Gaza school ‘housing’ Hamas militants kills 27

Israel claimed that the compound contained Hamas militants, and as a result, some 27 people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a school in Gaza, according to Reuters.
The school property, according to the local media, is housing displaced persons as a result of the ongoing conflict.
Israel asserted that there was a covert Hamas command center at the United Nations school located in Nuseirat, central Gaza. It stated that Hamas fighters engaged in the October 7, 2002, attack on Israel that started the war—which is currently in its ninth month—were kept within the facility.
According to Israel’s military, measures were taken to minimize civilian losses prior to the fighter aircraft attack.
Israel’s assertions were refuted by Ismail Al-Thawabta, the director of the government media office administered by Hamas.
“The occupation uses lying to the public opinion through false fabricated stories to justify the brutal crime it conducted against dozens of displaced people,” Thawabta stated to Reuters.
