Chandrababu Naidu Takes Oath As Andhra CM For Fourth Term

Prominent individuals such as Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah were present at the swearing-in ceremony, which was conducted close to Gannavaram Airport in Kesarapalli, on the outskirts of Vijayawada.
In 2021, Naidu experienced a momentous occasion when he wept in public for the first time, following disparaging comments made about his wife by leaders of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). This led him to make a serious commitment to only serve as Chief Minister when he returned to the Assembly.
Ahead of the oath-taking ceremony, Naidu reaffirmed his commitment to developing Amaravati as the state’s sole capital. “With all your cooperation, I am swearing in tomorrow (as the CM) and I would like to thank you all for that. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming for the swearing-in ceremony,” he stated, highlighting the support from the Union government for Andhra Pradesh’s development.
In 1995, Naidu took office as the Chief Minister of the then-undivided Andhra Pradesh, a position he held for two terms in a row. He was elected as Andhra Pradesh’s first Chief Minister in 2014 and served in that capacity till 2019. After winning the 2024 elections with a resounding victory, he came back to power.
In Andhra Pradesh, the TDP, BJP, and Janasena formed the NDA alliance, which won 164 seats in the Assembly and a sizable majority. The coalition won 21 of the state’s 25 parliamentary seats in the concurrent Lok Sabha elections.
